Recipe: Hominy and Beans

First in this series of cheap and healthy foods is a simple and quick bean dish.

In my life, I almost never have time to really cook a full meal.  With school, work, and all other house chores; I always need a simplistic quick recipe that can feed me in three minutes.  This is the recipe that I have found.

This simple no cook recipe for a happy healthy lifestyle.  With high protein and fiber, this meal will make you feel full for a very long time.

Ingredients:

  • 1 can Black Beans
  • 1 can Golden Hominy
  • 1 Roma Tomatoes Diced
  • 1 Side Green Bell Pepper Diced
  • A small bunch of Cilantro Chopped
  • Salsa of your choice to flavor
  • A dash of hot sauce for spice (optional)

Directions:

The first step to any recipe involving cans is, as you may expect, to open the cans.  Open the cans of golden hominy and black beans.  Wash both the contents in a strainer under a sink.  Let the strainer drain, and add the beans and hominy to the serving bowl.  Cut off one side of a green bell pepper, and dice the side.  Add the diced pepper to the serving bowl.  Dice the roma tomato, and add the diced tomato to the bowl.  Add sriracha to taste, and enjoy!
